Barry Mabry

Private Pitching Instructor 12+ Years

A native of Boiling Springs, SC, Barry played baseball at Boiling Springs High School where he was an All-Region and All-County pitcher during his junior and senior years.  He holds the record for most innings pitched and ranks second in strikeouts in a season. 

Mabry was signed by the Atlanta Braves out of high school.  He played six years of professional baseball, including four seasons in the Braves organization and two seasons in the Northern League with the Sioux City Explorers.

While in the Braves organization, Barry ranked in the Top 25 prospects after his second season.

Following a career-ending shoulder injury, Mabry coached in the Coastal Plains Summer League for three years as Pitching Coach with the Spartanburg Stingers and Forest City Owls. He served as Director of Operations for the Rome Braves (2009) and was Pitching Coach for the 2010 17U WWBA National Champions Charleston Diamond Devils.

Mabry graduated from Limestone College in 2009 and is currently the Upstate Scout/Fall Commissioner for Diamond Prospects, Associate Area Scout with the Washington Nationals and Head Coach of Charleston Diamond Devils 18U.
